Abstract :
This paper outlines the process and procedures adopted to design the architecture and functional requirements of the Instrumentation and Control (I&C) based on IEC 61850 standards. The I&C system of the Electrical Power Distribution network will conform to the standards, specifications and interfaces as set down by the ITER Organization and applied by the suppliers in the Domestic Agencies(DAs). The IEC 61850 system will ensure the reliable, smooth operation and maintenance of ITER electrical Control System at Cadarache.
