Abstract :
An overview is presented of recent results on the use of generalized sampled data hold functions (GSHFs) for the control of linear time-invariant systems. In GSHF control, the output of the plant is periodically sampled and the feedback control is generated by means of periodically switching hold functions applied to the sample sequence. Specific results are presented on the following problems: simultaneous pole-zero assignment, simultaneous linear-quadratic-Gaussian performance, adaptive control, and feedback stabilization
