Abstract
Electrooculography is the most applicable technique of recording the eye movements and its corresponding signal is called electrooculogram (EOG). It divides into the horizontal and vertical EOG concerning the recording system. Considering the both channels, it could be used as an interface to communicate with the external devices by means of the right, left, up and down movements of the eyes, which cause the corresponding EOG, varies distinctly. In this research, the new hardware of EOG recording is implemented. It not only speeds up the response time of the proposed system but also has higher accuracy among the subjects. Our experimental results reveal that for real-time applications, the response time of 500ms is appropriate to control the external step-motor. In addition, the averaged accuracy of 96.2% is high enough for the feasibility of the system. In this state, the corresponding information transfer rate is 204.8 bits/min.
