Abstract :
A CCD imager for a low-cost compact S-VHS camcorder is presented. With the introduction in a frame-transfer CCD of mosaic color filters, fast frame shift, on-chip drivers and surface pinning, the optical format for S-VHS resolution could be reduced from 2/3" to 1/3" without sacrificing performance.<>
