Abstract :
In this paper video signal level of the filmed material is measured on telecine with respect to a TAF (telecine analysis film) as reference value. On telecine calibrated according to TAF, projection of filmed material from shooting location needs same corrections. Instead of correcting signal, telecine is recalibrated according to the light conditions on shooting location and projects best possible image quality from shooting location. After the transfer, TAF is replaced and created video signal is measured. Results of measurement are compared and differences are established. Differences appear because of different light conditions, deliberately created to achieve artistic atmosphere of the picture, but must be unchanged during the same film scene in order to maintain constant quality level of the particular film part. Monitoring quality of filmed material is possible by control over established differences while transferring material from the same shooting location of the particular film scene. Uniformity of picture parameters during the whole film scene is considered as quality of shot material
