Abstract

Through analyzing main wire and wireless broadband access technologies: Web, PPPoE, IEEE 802.1X, IEEE802.11i and IEEE 802.16, we find that different link layer access technology uses different AAA (authentication, authorization, accounting) system which can not make effective utilization of the network resources, optimize operational networks, integrate users´ databases, and also can not provide uniform billings for users. Consequently, a platform suitable for integrated broadband access draws peoplepsilas much attention. This paper proposes one AAA client design for wire and wireless integrated access based on embedded Linux. The solution is simple and efficient.
