Summary form only given.We report on the fabrication and the characterization of a large-area, low-cost, flexible conjugated polymer planar distributed feedback (DFB) laser and present a detailed investigation of its underlying photophysics. We show a scheme of our device and illustrates the second-order distributed feedback mechanism. A thin film of a ladder-type poly(p-phenylene) was deposited on top of a poly(ethylene terephtalate) substrate.
