Abstract :
Resulting from high welding currents, resistance welding is accompanied by intense magnetic fields. In the paper, the interaction between the magnetic fields of the welding circuit of a resistance welding machine and two compensation coils, which are connected in series to the primary winding of the welding transformer, is illustrated. Different field compensation arrangements are investigated by finite elements (FEM) simulation and verified by measurements.
