Abstract
Most web applications with user interaction via forms have deficiencies with regard to intellectual/cognitive impairments of the users. The DIADEM project has provided remedies and developed a trial system offering accessible and personalized adaptive interactive online services which suit in particular the needs of elderly users. The focus of this paper is on the system´s technical aspects, discussing potential technological solutions, final choice of technologies, and the architecture of the entire system. The final system, although complex and with limitations regarding fast development cycles, meets the given requirements, scales easily, and achieves a high level of user satisfaction.
