Abstract
Presents an overview on established source and detector technologies as well as an outlook on emerging technologies for the frequency range between 0.3 and 10 THz. Applications for spectroscopy, radiometry, imaging and the examination of biological samples are reviewed. Continuous wave and time-domain THz technologies are contrasted in order to demonstrate the broad variety of measurement systems, their strengths and current limitations of THz technologies.
