    The main aims of any command and control model are to simplify complexity and to provide the basis for predictions of performance of the phenomena under consideration. Three different models of command and control are presented. The first is OODA model based on the control theories, the second is the CECA mode based on the cognitive sciences, and the third is the Smalley´s functional command and control model. Further to this, the three essential elements of command and control including command decision cycle, c2 approach and information are analyzed. From this analysis, lay out a generic model of command and control. This model will be used to guide further research into technological support of command and control.
