Abstract :
This article deals with further development of icing-in-flight detection algorithm. The icing detection algorithm proposed takes into account different scenarios of forming hazardous icing zones. In order to estimate the gravity of hazard, this algorithm tries to identify the type of hydrometeors and measure their average temperature. Airborne meteorological equipment is assumed to be used for remote sensing of clouds and precipitation and identification of hydrometeors type. The combination of active and passive methods with polarimetric approach is proposed to be applied to estimate the gravity of icing hazards.
