Abstract :
Investigations of dual-feed aperture-coupled microstrip patch (ACMP) and edge-fed microstrip patch (EFMP) elements with either microstrip phase-delay lines open circuited at their ends or connecting the two feed ports to create 90° polarization rotation, for use in a reflectarray, are presented. It is found that for open circuit stub configurations dual-feed EFMP elements offer larger phase variation than ACMP elements. The presented results also show that patch elements with the 90° polarization-rotation offer larger phase coverage than the open-circuit stub patch configurations.
