Abstract
Some new concepts about modus ponens (MP) are discussed. Should the inference rule of MP be the logic implication A→B? Should the consequence of MP be B? Negative answers are arrived at. The inference rule should be the conditional B|A and the consequence should be A∧B. These corrections are especially important for generalized modus ponens (GMP)
