Abstract :
A scheme is presented for orienting application, which is based on micro-magnetic sensor and accelerometer, and the scheme can solve the orienting problems well. We have an optimized arrangement of the two sensors´ positions, whi ch provides premise for establishing reference coordinate. An algorithm for completely oriented sensing is applied. In the algorithm, we take a concept of relative coordinate, and it simplifies solution process of the algorithm. The algorithm gives an intelligent solution for azimuth output mode, which can identify the actual east or west orientation. The hardware platform for result testing is established, which is based upon the structure upper computer and lower computer. We quote wavelet analysis method for noise cancellation. We point out corresponding simulation results by using the Matlab Wavelet toolbox and Signal processing toolbox. Comparing with traditional compasses, the digital compass is smaller, lighter, and more reliable; furthermore, the digital compass we present can work in complex conditions such as certain roll angles and pitch angles.
