Abstract :
In this paper, we introduce a framework for multiuser detection in time-hopping (TH) ultra-wideband (UWB) systems. Based on this framework, we can derive multiuser detectors. In addition, we can gain insight into TH-UWB and improve the performance by modifying TH-UWB signaling for the multiuser detection. From simulation results, we can observe that there is about 5 dB signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) gain at a bit error rate (BER) of 10-3 when the minimum mean square error (MMSE) detector is used by modifying TH-UWB signaling with random sign repetition
