Abstract :
In this paper, a novel time-hopping (TH) sequences family with TH zero correlation zone (ZCZ) for approximately synchronized time-hopping spread spectrum ultra wideband (THSS-UWB) systems is presented. When the approximate chip synchronization is held in the whole system, the multiple-access interference (MAI) of THSS-UWB systems employing the proposed ZCZ TH sequences is eliminated, and such THSS-UWB systems are more tolerant to the multipath problem. Consequently, the need of accurate synchronism in whole system is reduced while orthogonal communications are realized
