  • Abstract
    Mode-field areas of standard and specialty single-mode fibers have been adiabatically expanded more than 14-fold from 85 μm2 to 1195 μm2 with <; 0.1 dB loss using the technique of reverse tapering to reduce potential failure mechanisms.
