Abstract
The sense-seeking systems model holds promise for application in consideration of innovation and standardization. The particularly dynamic and dialectic nature of innovative systems as reflected by the model is highlighted. The relation between innovation and standardization inherent in the particular view taken of both innovation and technology is noted., as well as how the model captures something of the involvedness of the relation between standardization and innovation and of the dynamics and tensions both within and between the process of standardization and the encompassing process of innovation. Possible use of this model as a tool of analysis concerning issues of standardization is also demonstrated
