Abstract :
The aim of this paper is to present the application of Quality Function Deployment (QFD) for supply chain management curriculum design. Based on statistical results of questionnaires on curriculum design, four perceived requirements are found. They are: 1) program leader with management knowledge, 2) technology-related module, 3) module in corporate social responsibility (CSR), and 4) transferable analytical skills from assessments. These four elements actually correspond to ISO 9001: 2008 requirements of quality management system - management responsibility, management of resources, product realization and measurement through the deployment of QFD, Besides, qualitative content analysis of Education Bureau (EDB)/ Qualification Framework (QF) and job requirements of supply chain management has been carried out for curriculum improvement to increase customer satisfaction - equipping students with skills in SCM management and operations, custom-related documents, warehouse and inventory management, and customer relationship. This study provides insights to education sector about the use of QFD in curriculum design that is the core competitive advantage of a program to excel its competitors. It is suggested to carry out a further study on SCM program effectiveness.
