Abstract
Engineering Structure research and practical activities usually involve many distributed resources and researchers. In order to pool together these resources, ESESGrid (engineering structure experiment and simulation grid) is proposed in this paper. The design principles are given, and a framework is put forward, which has a service-oriented, multi-layer architecture. The implementation tools are presented, including Globus toolkit 4.0(GT4.0) and other tools. Then the key implementation technologies are discussed, including hierarchical information and scheduling mechanism, tele-observation of experimental data, security mechanism and monitoring mechanism. etc. Its efficiency and feasibility are proved with good performance in a structure engineering center. The implementation of this grid will not only support structure experimental systematization but also promote the development and popularization of Grid applications.
