Abstract :
Vast majority of computation, storage, and communication will take place in data centers in the years ahead. Building balanced systems today requires Pb/sec networks. Exabit/sec networks are not far behind. Tremendous opportunity for optics to define what it means to perform communication in the data center is presented.
