Abstract :
Reputation is used to estimate the trustworthiness of peers and to help prevent malicious actions from spreading by untrusting peers in peer-to-peer (p2p) networks. In this paper, we propose a novel reputation management model. Compare to previous reputation work, we firstly divide the reputation into three level, e.g. local reputation, friend-wide reputation and community-wide reputation. A super-peer network architecture is introduced as the infrastructure in our model and we explain the reputation calculation algorithm. Simulation results show that this model can reduce the reputation query message more rapidly than the previous models. The proposed system can be highly effective in preventing the spread of malicious content in p2p networks.
