Abstract
The basics of loop position control and the tension variation in a product caused by the loop are discussed. The basic catenary, position regulator gain, and weighted dancer loops with and without a counterweight are covered, and other possible approaches to loop control are examined briefly. The present work is intended to give the design engineer a good starting point to make sure product uniformity is taken into account in his specific designs.<>
