Abstract
The phase-mode transformation method is generally performed to decouple the three-phase lines, when electromagnetic transients of power transmission lines are studied. For untransported transmission lines, the standard transformation matrices are inapplicable. Based on the parameter characteristics of untransported bilateral three-phase lines and conclusions in L.M. Wedepohl (1963), a new method for the proper transformation matrices is proposed, which could get the special matrices for untransported bilateral three-phase lines simply
