Abstract :
The space-mapping approach and recently introduced manifold-mapping technique offer a significant reduction in CPU time for engineering device optimization. This paper describes a space- and manifold-mapping framework for efficient automated design of electromagnetic actuators. The optimization algorithms together with the interconnection of two commercially available software packages are detailed for 2D and 3D applications, thus providing the electromechanical designer with an automated software tool for numerous applications
