Comparison research on residential environment between hall and study in south of the Yangtze River

As an important part of Confucianism, etiquette system culture was influenced on people´s life and residential environment. Comparing residential environment between hall and study showed contrast effect that varied from etiquette system of value, such as solemn and leisure, systematic and personalized. Design of study space indicates the idea of “human-centered” and personalization lifestyle of literati, which can be regarded as the tendency of successful Chinese traditional interior design.
