The construct and implementation of an uniform E-learning environment platform with Moodle on linux

E-learning is a technology that plays an important role in modern education and training. Its great importance lies in the fact that it makes learning content readily available at any place at any time. Open Source Software (OSS) has become an international phenomenon, moving from relative obscurity to the latest buzzword in a few years. OSS is not only a successful software development, but also works well in uniform E-learning environments platform. This paper discusses four models of web-based curriculum system in detail, and explores the relationship between OSS and E-learning. Furthermore, the methods of constructing and implementing an uniform E-learning environment platform with Moodle 1.9.8 on the latest redflag linux system, Asianux Server 3, are also introduced.
