Abstract :
This paper describes a mechanism of defining keywords on our Information Utilization System, which we have proposed to utilize information received via e-mail. Our system utilizes metadata of e-mail messages to organize pieces of information, and keywords are used to classify pieces of information based on their topics. Keywords have their own URIs and their definitions are exchanged in the form of XML documents. Users can get their difinitions by accessing their URIs. Our proposed mechanism makes it possible to share the keyword definitions between users and to avoid general issues of keyword-based classification of information.
