Abstract :
The idea behind of the paper is aimed to improve FMEA (Failure mode and Effects Analysis) process in the field of reflow lead free soldering with using the ontology paradigm. Some of FMEA software tools and ontology editors are described in order to disclose the essence of an FMEA based on ontology. Description of FMEA analysis of a lead-free soldering process without the use of ontology based approach. Some FMEA and ontology editor tools, suitable for our intention, are applied. The ontology represents the formal model of an expert knowledge base containing suitable elements to carry out FMEA on the process of lead-free soldering.
