Abstract :
Steganography is the science of hiding messages within some cover media. The intent is usually covert communication, but steganography is equally applicable for digital watermarking of media. Messages can be hidden in any media. Echo hiding is a steganographic technique that hides messages in audio. This technique is known to be more robust to audio transformations and attacks than LSB embedding, a common and simple steganographic technique. This paper verifies the robustness of both LSB embedding and echo hiding, and proposes a scheme that improves it further. The improvement arises from the use of a self-synchronizing code set called the T-codes to encode messages prior to their concealment.
