Abstract :
In the paper, the procedure of the numerical design and analysis of switched reluctance motors is introduced. In such a procedure, using the finite element method to calculate the magnetic field in the motor is the fundamental step. For reducing the computing time, selecting the methods for the electromagnetic torque and iron loss calculation must be discreet. Some effective methods and a software package are introduced in the paper.
