Abstract :
Neutral-to-earth voltages that are produced by a farm electrical system and those that are produced off the farm are discussed. It is noted that if a company is to investigate neutral-to-earth voltage on a farm, policy decisions are necessary before providing such a service. A test is described that will indicate if there is a voltage which is reaching animals to a specific location on a farm. A procedure that can be used to identify the major sources of neutral-to-earth voltage is proposed. Mitigation techniques for reducing neutral-to-earth voltages are covered in detail.<>
