Abstract :
A two-step approach is developed for constructing minimum redundancy (MR) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radars. The minimum total number of transmitting and receiving antenna elements is determined for given virtual aperture in the first step. In the second step, the virtual aperture is expanded by adjusting the number between the transmitting and receiving antennas, and by changing the spacings between the elements. Simulation results showing the performance improvement of the MR MIMO radars is presented.
