Abstract
This contribution investigates the industrial application of new local model based nonlinear state feedback control schemes. Local model based control algorithms can be divided into two classes - master-slave and non-master-slave control structures. In this work, a control strategy for each of these classes is developed. Merits and demerits of both types of structures are illustrated with the help of simulation/experimental studies. The major aim of this contribution is to explore potentials and limits of local model based control schemes. Results of realtime control of a pH-neutralization plant as well as simulation results of the combustion engine torque control problem are presented.
