Abstract :
In this paper, symbol error probability (SEP) expressions for orthogonal space-time block coded multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems are derived for both M-ary phase shift keying (M-PSK) and square M-ary quadrature amplitude modulation (M-QAM) in quasi static frequency selective Nakagami-m fading channels. This paper studies the performance of the concatenation of an outer channel code with an orthogonal space-time block coding (OSTBC) where the outer code can be a convolutional code (CC) in Nakagami-m fading channel. It is shown that the combination of channel codes and OSTBCs leads to performance improvements in various fading environments.
