Abstract :
The paper describes a pilot test of a monitoring system for the operating line testing of the high temperature low sag (HTLS) conductors. The HTLS conductors mitigate the limitations for the grid integration of renewable energy resources due to the rating of transmission and distribution lines. The monitoring system measures the conductor tension and temperature. This system includes a methodology for the analysis of the measured data, and obtains the theoretical tension-temperature curve that estimates the conductor´s behavior.
