Abstract :
The main purpose of this work is to simulate the possibility of measurement of density dependent relative magnetic permeability of ferrofluid using a high performance giant magneto-resistive (GMR) sensor. The circular type Helmholtz coils have been used for the generation of uniform magnetic field inside the region under consideration. The relative magnetic permeability of ferrofluid is very close to 1 and is dependent on the density of magnetic particles. The electromagnetic field has been analysed to determine the sensitivity of the GMR sensor
