  • Abstract
    The authors describe an accelerated technology for circulating fluidized bed combustion. The approach used included a reliability analysis, early system start-up tests, and systematic exploitation of operating experience with similar units that started up earlier. Exploiting experience with earlier units turned out to be the most important of the three actions. Many potential problems were eliminated and the plant passed its reliability acceptance test on the first attempt.<>
