Abstract :
With the further development of the computer network, the revolution of the OS and the popularization of network transmission technology, PDA has been an important upsurge in IT business for its small size, low energy consumption, powerful functions and easy exploiting. Meanwhile, the embedded system technology has infiltrated into all fields of the society. Linux has more development space in embedded systems thanks to its great performance in high end servers and the characteristic of open source and service-oriented. Therefore, PDA development based on embedded Linux has been the hotspot for many researchers. In order to further exploit the development process of PDA and improve the design in the practical level, we studied the development process of the PDA tools on the ARM-Linux platform in the case of address book design. This paper first introduced the development overview and main application of PDA in various fields, then presented the embedded Linux development platform and the experiment setup, furthermore, we chose Qt as the graphics development toolkit for this paper and made detailed description for the design and implementation of the address book.
