            Abstract : 
This paper presents a combined analytical and finite element method (FEM) for calculation of the branch inductances of large salient-pole synchronous generator with air gap eccentricity. The described method calculates the eccentric air-gap magnetic field distribution and obtains the branch inductances of machine conductors and then compares these to the results obtained from the air-gap permeance analysis method. Comparison of these results shows a very good agreement that prove the validity of the described method
