  • Abstract
    By using the residue theorem and exact image method, an efficient expression is derived for the electromagnetic fields of the lightning return stroke current. Sommerfeld-type integrals contained in the field are expressed as the exponential decay surface wave (the pole contributions of the integrand) and the rapidly convergent integrals which can be interpreted as a distributed image source in the complex plane
