Abstract :
We review the concept of "molecules of light". We will discuss stationary properties of 1-dimensional and 2-dimensional composite solitons as well as their stability. We will demonstrate results of our experiments with multi-pole vector solitons in photorefractive nonlinear crystal. We will show formation and interaction of these solitons. In particular we will demonstrate collision-induced rotation of dipole soliton. Finally, we will discuss the transverse instability of 1-dimensional vector soliton stripes which leads to formation of an array of dipole mode vector solitons
