Abstract :
Summary form only given. In a normal-mode coupling semiconductor microcavity (NMC-SMC), the cavity polariton frequencies are well separated from the exciton resonance; therefore, the populations of the excitonic states are suppressed. This reduces the contribution of the incoherent processes to the nonlinear optical response and implies that the coherent processes play a major rot in NMC-SMC four-wave mixing.
