Abstract
This session includes a loosely related group of papers that report on current measurements in the very near-shore, river, or under ice environments. There have not been many reports in previous CMTC on collected current measurements under ice. However, this session includes two. Mudge et al., and Huhta and Choquette both report on measuring current profiles under ice. Schmidt et al. report on making Lagrangian current measurements in the surface zone. Papers by Spain et al., and Teague et al. report on a developing technology that employs UHF to measure river transport. A paper by Marsden and another by Parra et al. report on using acoustic techniques to measure river flow. And finally, Young and Phillip give us an update on their unique autonomous semi-submersible vehicle.
