Abstract

The authors have developed a training system shell (TRAISS) for the workplace to address the knowledge acquisition problem in building training systems. On one hand, TRAISS helps a domain expert to enter a solved problem case into the system. It uses the dependency graph technique to convert the expert´s solution into a directed graph that is consistent with a problem-solving methodology in the workplace. On the other hand, it provides a tutorial, based on this graph, for a trainee, using an apprenticeship-based approach
