  • Abstract
    A numerical method to analyze the potential distribution along long ceramic insulator strings on the head of transmission tower is presented. The method uses charge simulation method and boundary element method to obtain the capacitances among insulators, transmission lines, and tower, and then uses circuit theory to analyze the potential exerted on each insulator. The potential distribution along insulator strings on the head of 750 kV transmission tower is analyzed
