Abstract
The authors present an approach, based on the study of a particular solution of a nonlinear matrix equation, to investigate stationary network properties and to use the concept of closed-loop balanced realization to characterize some classes of symmetric systems. It is shown that it possible to characterize symmetric electrical networks by using suitable quantities as regards passivity, the lossless property, and relaxation. Propositions are made to give characterizations of some classes of electrical networks. Suitable software has been developed to test the classes of system considered.<>
