Abstract
In this paper, we investigate the effects of space harmonics of 1-phase line start permanent magnet (LSPM) motor on starting performance. An equivalent electric circuit considering the harmonics is constructed for the analysis, where the harmonic magnetizing inductances and the back EMF from the permanent magnet (PM) are extracted by FEM. The simulation results about the harmonic effects are compared with that of the time step FEA
