Abstract :
The authors consider the problem of interpolation using a set of training signals. The training set is assumed to contain signals representative of the type of the waveform to be interpolated. The authors discuss two procedures for using the training data directly to estimate the missing samples. The interpolated signal is chosen to satisfy the given samples, and to be close to the signals in the training set. The authors discuss the difference between the two methods, and present and example of interpolation of biological transients (sperm whales)
